Sunset in Ngong Ping

It was not the best day for travel.

The Giant Bronze Buddha in Ngong Ping

At about 15:15, I arrived Ngong Ping Market by bus because NP360, the cable car system was packed with people, the company said you may have to wait for 120 min to get a ticket (not to say getting into the cable car); When I left the bus, it was raining heavily outside. Even I opened a small folding umbrella in my bag, my body was all wet.

The weather was unstable, rainy, cloudy, windy; yet it was quite lucky the wind blown the clouds shading the blue sky before sunset.

Heart Sutra Forest (aka The Wisdom Path)

Spent some time amongst the east-facing Heart Sutra Forest (The Wisdom Path in the Government’s term). The sun in the west made it impossible for me to read the inscription on each pole, while the photos taken reminded me of “The Third Tokyo City” in Evangelion.

The sun quickly hid itself behind the hillock, while I was still able to catch a glimpse of it while walking back to Ngong Ping Market.

Big Buddha and the Sunset

NP360 and the Sunset

Staff of the NP360 reminded me to leave before 19:00 when the last bus leave the station. It was quite obvious there was a long line in the station, more precisely, the market with the staff saying that you have to wait another 100 min for the ride. Knowing that some would go for the bus afterwards, I hurried to the station and caught the bus. The ride was amazing with gorgeous sunset view!
